So far this season, the Lady Tigers have posted a 6-16 record overall and a 4-12 record in the SIAC. Brown is very confident on how far the Lady Tigers have come since the first day of practice.
"It's all about getting started off on the right foot," Brown said, "The team has adjusted very well to my system of play, and they're quick learners."
Brown comes to Stillman from Morgan State University, which is part of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. She led the program from 2002-2005.
She has also spent eight years as the head coach at her alma mater Clark Atlanta University where she led her team to a SIAC title in 1999.
Of Brown's 14 years of coaching experience, she has established a 159-175 record overall.
"She's a great motivator and a great coach," Senior Vancherick Mitchell said about Brown, "She's always there for us on and off the court."
Coach Brown says that winning the conference is a must this season as long as the Lady Tigers can stay injury free and their two key players in Mitchell, and Junior Bianca Burton, can lead the team. Burton currently leads the Lady Tigers in average points, blocks, and steals this season.
Unlike last season's 13-16 record, Stillman hopes to improve its record this season.
"Last season I learned to never let up," said Burton, "Always go hard no matter what."
Brown and the Lady Tigers will have a considerably amount of success with their experienced players and with each player knowing what their individual roles are on the team.
With five games left in the season and the SIAC Tournament coming up February 28, the Lady Tigers still have a chance at making the playoffs.
Coach Brown knows there is a statement to be made in the conference. "If we do less talking, the games should speak for themselves."
