Pratt, Burton Receive All-Conference Awards

Stillman senior forward Monyea Pratt was selected on Tuesday as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Most Valuable Player by league coaches. He, along with Kentucky State's Kenny Jones, were unanimous 1st team selections. Pratt led the conference in scoring (20.0) and was third in rebounding (8.8). He was the Tigers' high scorer in 21-of-27 games this season.
"This is just a blessing and a dream come true for me," Pratt said. "I give all credit to my coaches and my teammates as the biggest reasons that I was able win this award. This is huge for me."
Junior forward Bianca Burton was the Lady Tigers' only representative when the SIAC women's all-conference teams were announced. For the second straight year, Burton was a 2nd team selection.
The Lady Tigers will face Lane College today at 4:00 p.m. at Birmingham's Fair Park Arena in the first round of the SIAC tourney. The men's team will begin its tournament title defense on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Stillman will play the winner of today's Albany State and Clark Atlanta game.
